Medway Secondary School Games Cross Country

The Medway Secondary School Games launched into action for the third event on its calendar with the Cross Country, held at Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School, Rochester on Tuesday 1st December 2009.
Over 350 athletes from 15 Medway Secondary schools competed in the freezing conditions, but this did not take away from every athlete giving everything and produced some thrilling race finishes. The Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical school dominated the event winning every boys’ team event (the team event was based upon each schools highest placed 4 finishers). The results after all 8 races were as follows:

The top individual finishers from every race will now go on to represent Medway at the Kent Schools Cross Country Championships being held in Dartford on Saturday 16th January 2010.
The sports development team would like to thank everyone involved in making this event so successful including the help of PE staff and volunteers from Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School.
The Medway Secondary School Games is a multi-sport programme of events running throughout the school year, open to all Medway secondary schools. The scheme is organised by Medway Council’s Sports Development Team, with the support of Governing Bodies of Sport, local sports clubs and leisure facilities.
The next Medway Secondary Schools Games event is the Trampolining Festival on Tuesday 26 January 2010 at Jumpers Rebound Centre, Gillingham.
