Greenacre School Sport Partnership has applied and been successful in drawing down funding to run a range of programmes aimed at getting more and more people involved in sporting opportunities.

imageAll infant, junior and primary schools across the Partnership have been running 12 week multi skills clubs. These are being run by teachers, teaching assistants, SSCo's and sports coaches on the school sites. This is an access club for all young people, no matter what their current skill level, to improve.

In each of the secondary schools there are a range of clubs happening which are providing new equipment, coaches and links to be formed with a range of organisations.

Girls at the Walderslade girls, Fort Pitt, Chatham South, Thomas Aveling  and Rochester Grammar schools have been put through their paces in a multi sport club that runs throughout the year. Some of the activities have been fitness, aerobics, rugby, basketball, rock climbing, street dance and korfball. The activities have proved so popular in certain sports that new clubs have been formed since the girls have taken part in the activities. Chatham Grammar School for Boys have been running a similar club for boys at the school.

Bradfields special school have for the past 2 years been running a winter multi sport club focusing on the activites of snowboarding, skiing and ice skating. This programme has been widely enjoyed by all pupils who are able to take part in the activities - for many their first sporting activities to happen after school.

Sir Joseph Williamson Mathematical School has taken a lead with setting up an all encompassing orienteering programme which in the future will form a key aspect of work for all Partnership schools..
