Our role is to develop, enhance and improve opportunities and experiences for ALL young people in sport. We work with primary teachers, secondary PE teachers and departments, learning support assistants, mid day meal supervisors, sports coaches and volunteers, parents and students.
As well as schools we also work very closely with numerous people and organisations across the Medway area; our main partners include the Howard School Sport Partnership, and the Medway Sports Development team.
For the past three years we have been working hard to ensure that all young people have access to 2 hours of Physcial Education and School Sport opportunities per week. Current figures show that 81% of the 16,000 pupils across the Partnership schools are accessing the recommending amount during school time. Our next challenge has been set! We now need to look outside of purely school opportunities and ensure that young people aged between 5-16 have access to a full 5 hour programme of sporting opportunities.
The Partnership is proud to be hosted by Greenacre School, Medway’s first specialist sports college. Both the school and the School sport partnership are working closely to ensure maximum benefit to the young people of Medway in sport.
